I disagree with the first Critique.

I don't think you "mistimed" the wave, I think you got the PERFECT wave that fits this photograph. If every photo had a huge swell crashing into rocks... things would be too monotonous, far too bland, and not very unique.

One of the reasons this photo caught my eye was BECAUSE it seemed violent, but it also seemed calm. The waves look like they're crashing on the rocks with a force but not an aggressive force... a lighter force that makes the water more relaxing. I would love to be on a balcony watching this scene, listening to the rhythmic sounds, and getting lost in the simplicity of it all.
It would NOT be relaxing, or as appealing to me, to watch a violent ocean (it would make me think a monsoon was coming).

So, at least in my opinion, I think you captured the heart of this photograph.
